Search for the paper you want to curate. You can search for any key word from the abstract, publication title or author list. If your search brings up more than one match, locate the appropriate paper from the list and click its 'Curate' button. Once you have located the paper you want to curate you will be able to link genes to the paper via the xanthusBase literature cuaration tool.

Search for publications:       

Once the gene/paper links are established the reference will appear on the gene page/s.
This will provide other database users a place look up the detailed study information relavent a gene of interest.
